Our Mom, Yvonne Marie Kennedy, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024, with family by her side. Her final days were filled with love, story telling, laughter and lots of hugs and kisses.
In the heart of our family stood a pillar of strength, love and her distinctly own brand of Irish wisdom - the matriarch, affectionately know by all as “Grams”. She was a beacon of light. Her presence was more than just a link to our past; she's the cornerstone upon which our family's legacy is built. With grace and resilience, she's woven a tapestry of love that binds us all together.
Yvonne was predeceased by her beloved husband, Brendan Patrick Kennedy (August 2005) of 42 years. Loving mother of John, Sharon and Kerri (John). Dear sister of Marcell (Deirdre) and brother-in-law Desmond (Isobel); predeceased by Eugene (Marie), Ursula (Danny) and Angela. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and other relatives in both Northern Ireland and Canada along with Cameron & Carson’s mother, Jennifer Anderson.
To her grandchildren, she was the “Bestest Grams ever!” She was more than a loving grandmother; she was their guardian angel (with a direct link to St. Anthony on countless occasions LOL!) Her grandchildren are the “weans” Matthew, Mytchell, Michael, Sofia (who has picked up the mantle as our go to for St. Anthony requests 😊), Cameron (Rebecca) and Carson. She had an unconditional love and unwavering support for all of them … they could do no wrong in her eyes. Her gentle embrace was a sanctuary in times of need and her laughter a melody that will fill their hearts with joy for all time.
Her great-grandson the “wee” Benjamin, was her latest to shower with much love and boundless affection and so enjoyed the daily videos provided by her grandson, Cameron, and his wife Rebecca. Our Mom was absolutely thrilled with our family’s newest and adorable addition.
Her love knew no bounds, her Irish wisdom knew no end and her legacy is etched in the hearts of all who have been blessed to know her. She was the embodiment of love, the epitome of amazing perseverance & strength, and the heartbeat of our family - a true matriarch whose light will forever shine bright in our hearts.
